Alarm.com tracks severe weather warnings issued by the National Weather Service and provides real-time alerts to customers when a severe weather warning is issued near their home or business. During the recent tornado activity in the Midwest, Vivint customers in the affected area of Kansas and Missouri received an alert through their panel, directly in their home and were able to react quickly. "It must have been over 5 minutes from the time my Vivint system warned me of the tornado and when the neighborhood sirens finally went off," Vivint customer Jim Schneider of Pittsburg, Kansas explained. "That is precious time when you are trying to get your family to safety during a killer tornado. That's five minutes my neighbors in Joplin wished they had Sunday night."
