Vienna, VA – Jan. 5, 2014 – Alarm.com, the leading provider of connected home and interactive services, today announced their new Wellness solution, an offering that combines sensors, mobile notifications and home automation to provide a secure and cost-effective option for independent living. Using real-time information from in-home sensors, the solution notifies family members or designated caregivers of unexpected changes in routines that may indicate an emergency. Integrated with Alarm.com's Interactive Security service, Wellness provides complete peace of mind through better security and awareness.
"People are living longer, healthier and more active lives, and aging family members, as well as people with disabilities, are looking for secure ways to live independently at home," said Alison Slavin, Vice President of Product Management at Alarm.com. "Our Wellness solution extends our connected home technology platform to help people remain secure, healthy and independent for as long as possible."
Alarm.com's Wellness solution includes a new bed presence monitor, panic buttons and sensors that monitor activity so that families can ensure the well-being of loved ones, even when they're far apart. Unlike traditional Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), Wellness automatically alerts caregivers and loved ones when unusual situations or emergencies are detected.
The new Wellness service is fully integrated with Alarm.com's home security, energy management and home automation services, making it easy to control many aspects of the home from anywhere via a mobile app.
"Home automation technology continues to evolve. It's more than just controlling a single device from your phone; it's about your home working on your behalf," said Slavin. "Easy to set up system rules automatically manage devices like lights and thermostats, making the home environment more comfortable without the need for user interaction. Family members and other caregivers can even check in to make sure that settings like the temperature inside the home are where they should be."
Wellness will be available to consumers in early 2014. For more information and demonstrations of all of Alarm.com's products and services please visit table 51 at CES Unveiled in Las Vegas on January 5, 2014.
